Steven calling Earth!…

October 31, 2007

Thanks for visiting my blog and seeing what’s up! :)

It’s pretty clear to see that it’s been a while since I last blogged. So I’ll give a very quick update so that you know a bit more of what has been going on…

I am into week 5 of 12 on the lecture/training phase of my course. Man it has been seriously hard!!! I literally started and got inundated with work!

So far I have found myself in classes learning, doing work duties, doing copious amounts of homework or fitting in enough sleep. Even my weekends have been jam packed with trying to get the homework done. I am not exaggerating either.
The first weekend I found myself working all the way through and the second weekend I managed to get about two hours on the beach.

For these reasons I have found it really hard to communicate with people because when I have chance to breath I have been so drained that the last thing I feel like doing is writing more stuff on my laptop. Not that I don’t value all of you but I struggle to find the time or motivation (especially as I am a perfectionist and want to tell you everything! – so then it seems like such a huge task).

I am being challenged a lot in many ways and I am having to learn to adjust how much effort I put into the work so that I actually have free time (I haven;t quite mastered that yet, in case you’re wondering!).

Well, I am going to leave it there because otherwise no one will read this if it looks like a lot to read!

So far I’ve learnt about Team Formation (Conflict Resolution), Worldview, Discipleship, Spiritual gifts and the Holy Spirit, Church planting methods, Evangelism and missions.

Bless you all, Speak soon

Steve

Hello from South Africa!… my arrival

October 2, 2007

I have arrived safely in South Africa. Thank you for your prayers and support. I met up with four members who are staffing my YWAM course and we drove down to the YWAM base in Muizenberg, about half an hour from Cape Town. I chatted with them for awhile and met a few people that I already know from being at this base before as well. Estimating that I had managed to get 5 hours sleep in the last 36 hours I retired to my room to catch up on sleep.
